What follows is, in fact, a guide dedicated to how to obtain the document in this Municipality.

PLEASE NOTE!

If you already know that you wish to entrust us with the application for this certificate at the Municipality of Druento, please contact us!

If the certificate needs to be legalized or apostilled, a step at the Prefecture is required, and we can handle it on your behalf, along with any necessary translation. In this case, the territorially competent Prefecture is the Prefecture of Turin.

1. What the Marriage Certificate includes and its purpose

The Marriage Certificate certifies the celebration of a marriage and includes some essential information about the marriage and the spouses (such as some personal details of the spouses; the date and place where the marriage was celebrated) but, unlike the Marriage Record Extract and the Full Copy of the Marriage Record, it does not include any annotations, such as: any community or separation of property regime,  postnuptial agreements, or any information regarding separation or divorce.

It can be requested by anyone who knows the identifying details of the spouses.

2. Who can request the Marriage Certificate from the Municipality of Druento

The Marriage Certificate may be requested by any person who meets the following requirements:

  • Is of legal age according to Italian law (i.e., at least 18 years old);
  • Has a valid identity document;
  • Knows the identifying details of the spouses.

3. When the Marriage Certificate may be requested from the Municipality of Druento

The Marriage Certificate can usually be requested in any Municipality if, at the time of the request, the personal record (scheda anagrafica) of at least one of the spouses is registered in the ANPR (National Register of the Resident Population).

If neither spouse’s personal record is registered in the ANPR, the Marriage Certificate can be requested from the Municipality of Druento only if the Marriage Record is registered in this Municipality.

4. Methods for requesting the Marriage Certificate from the Municipality of Druento

Below, we list the main methods that allow you to request the Marriage Certificate in this Municipality. Applications may be submitted to the competent office in person or, if this option is available, online.

As part of the application submission, you may need to fill out forms. Where specific forms are required, they may be provided at the counter (for in-person applications) or be available on the website of the Municipality of Druento (for remote applications).

PLEASE NOTE!

Some request methods allow you to obtain a digital copy of the Marriage Certificate. If you need to send it to a Foreign Country, this may not be sufficient as the document might need to be legalized or apostilled. In cases where legalization or apostille of the document is required, you must request a paper copy of the document signed with the handwritten signature of a municipal official whose signature is registered at the territorially competent Prefecture.

– Through the National Register of the Resident Population (ANPR) Website

You can download various types of registry certificates, including the Marriage Certificate, online, for yourself or for a member of your registered family unit (famiglia anagrafica), by accessing the National Register of the Resident Population.

Accessing the ANPR portal requires one of the following digital identity methods:

  • SPID (Servizio Pubblico Identità Digitale, a type of Italian digital identity);
  • An Italian Electronic Identity Card (CIE);
  • An Italian National Services Card (CNS);
  • A digital identity from another European Country conforming to the eIDAS standard.

You can also read our guide on how to request an Italian Marriage Certificate online.

– Through the Competent Office’s Digital Communication Channels (email and/or Certified Electronic Mail – PEC)

The competent office may also issue the document through its digital communication channels (email and/or Certified Electronic Mail – PEC).

In this case, you must send a request to the office using one of the available channels. In your request, you must state that you are requesting a Marriage Certificate and include the spouses’ details. You must also attach a copy of your identity document.

To verify which digital communication channels are actually available, you may consult the Municipality’s institutional website.

– At the Counter of the Municipal Registry Office

You may also request this document in person by visiting the counter of the competent office of the Municipality of Druento.

To verify the office’s opening hours and whether an appointment is required for access, we recommend contacting the office.

– Via Mail and/or Courier

The Municipality of Druento may also issue the Marriage Certificate via mail and/or courier.

To verify this, it is necessary to contact the competent Municipal office beforehand to determine if the document can also be issued in this manner.

5. How Much Does the Issuance Cost?

Civil Status Certificates (Birth, Marriage, Death, and Civil Union/Registered Partnership) issued on plain paper are usually issued free of charge. In the case of requests sent by mail or courier, the shipping cost must be covered. The Municipality of Druento may charge administrative fees for processing requests.

For Civil Status Certificates associated with historical records dated over 100 years ago, the Municipality of Druento may require a contribution of up to €300 per certificate, and the issuing procedures for these specific certificates may differ from those outlined in this guide. To verify if a contribution is required for the issuance of such documents, we recommend contacting the Municipality.

6. Issuance Times

Marriage Certificates requested via the ANPR portal are issued immediately.

Those requested at the counter of the Municipal Registry Office are issued immediately, unless otherwise specified by the official at the time the request is submitted.

If requested via email and Certified Electronic Mail (PEC), they are usually issued within 30 days.

For Marriage Certificates that are not digitized (e.g., those associated with very old Marriage Records), issuance may require a time ranging from 30 to 180 days and, under certain circumstances, may even be longer.

If the Municipality provides for issuance via mail or courier, the necessary time for the parcel to reach its destination must be added to the issuance times.
